Position Summary

Blackstone Toyota of Fresno is seeking a dependable, hardworking Full-Time Vehicle Wash Attendant to join our team.

This is an entry-level position primarily responsible for washing and cleaning customer and dealership vehicles. The ideal candidate is reliable, works well in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work, and understands the importance of providing customers with a clean, properly cared-for vehicle.

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform exterior vehicle cleaning and washing according to dealership procedures and training.
• Rinse loose dirt and debris from vehicles using water.
• Ensure vehicle windows, doors, trunks, and other openings are properly secured before washing.
• Adjust water pressure and equipment appropriately to prevent vehicle damage.
• Mix and use soap, water, and cleaning products in appropriate quantities.
• Use wash mitts, cloths, sponges, and other approved equipment to properly clean vehicles.
• Take appropriate care to prevent scratching or damaging vehicle paint, glass, trim, and other surfaces.
• Thoroughly rinse vehicles to ensure all soap and cleaning products are removed.
• Clean and wipe vehicle roofs and other exterior surfaces as required.
• Properly dry vehicles after washing.
• Vacuum and perform light interior cleaning when requested.
• Clean areas such as trunks, cup holders, consoles, and other interior areas when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle wash area.
• Properly maintain and store cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Report any existing or accidental vehicle damage immediately to management.
• Follow all dealership safety procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous vehicle washing, detailing, or automotive experience is helpful but not required .

This position regularly requires:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and grasping.
• Carrying and moving cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Sweeping, wiping, washing, drying, and vacuuming.
• Repetitive hand, arm, and body movements.
• Lifting up to 25 pounds frequently .
• Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally .
• Using hoses, vacuums, cleaning materials, and other vehicle-cleaning equipment.

Visual and Communication Requirements

• Ability to read labels, instructions, and safety information on cleaning products.
• Ability to distinguish between cleaning products and materials, including by color when necessary.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.

Working Conditions

This position is primarily performed in an automotive dealership and vehicle wash environment.

Employees may be:

• Exposed to hot or cold temperatures and changing weather conditions.
• Exposed to water, cleaning products, dirt, dust, and vehicle-related materials.
• Required to work around moving vehicles and automotive equipment.
• Required to work in an environment with frequent background noise.
• Subject to frequent interruptions and interaction with customers and coworkers.
• Required to work weekends and certain holidays based on dealership business needs.
